EXCLUSIVE: Trump's CBP axes Biden-era policy allowing private gifts for illegal immigrants in federal custody
A 2022 gift pipeline for aliens in custody. Commissioner Scott pulled CBP out of it today.
Summary
- Fox News, citing an internal memo, reports CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott withdrew the agency immediately from a 2022 Department of Homeland Security directive that let CBP and ICE solicit, accept, and use private gifts for illegal immigrants in custody.
- Scott wrote that Delegation 07107, Rev. 1 is no longer needed or appropriate, that encounters and apprehensions have fallen enough that CBP does not need donated goods for aliens in custody, and that the order does not match the administration's enforcement posture.
- CBP told Fox it recently found the directive and moved to rescind its participation. The withdrawal covers CBP. Scott's memo does not say ICE has been removed from the same DHS policy.
- Fox notes the administration has marked 15 straight months with zero border releases and a 94 percent drop in apprehensions. The gift channel sat under that drawdown until the memo landed.
Commentary
A dock dad still buys his own work gloves off a cracked linoleum aisle and knows a custody cot is supposed to mean a hold, not a private gift list run out of a 2022 memo. He did not clock overtime so a donation drive could stock an alien locker.
One directive. Two agencies named. CBP out. ICE still on the paper. The vinyl chair in that holding wing still remembers the honest household that already paid the levy.
Look every working father who still locks a porch after a night shift in the eye and answer this: if CBP already killed the gift channel, who still owns the next locker ICE has not pulled off that 2022 order?
Comments
Delegation 07107. Scott out. ICE still named. Keep those three stamps.
I stood a gate so a cot still meant a hold. A private gift list is not a weather report.
2022 directive. Immediate withdrawal. Memo silent on ICE. Print both.
Allied lockups still treat a custody gift as a breach, not a care package.
Solicit, accept, use. Three verbs on one order. File them.
I still smell diesel at 2 a.m. I want the next donated locker empty of a load.
A gift pipeline in federal custody is not a vibe. It is a warning the street already paid.
A 2022 gift order next to a 94 percent apprehension drop is a second border around every honest shop.
Fox printed Scott, 07107, and CBP-only. Argue those nouns.
Hold the withdrawal. Pull ICE next. A custody gift list is not a souvenir.
