Accused Drug Trafficker Resumes Work As Sinaloa Governor Despite Being Wanted by USDOJ
Sinaloa's governor just clocked back in after a U.S. cartel indictment. Sheinbaum called in sick rather than explain the desk.
Summary
- Breitbart reports Gov. Ruben Rocha Moya announced Friday he is returning to work in Sinaloa after weeks of leave following a U.S. Justice Department indictment.
- DOJ in April charged Rocha Moya and nine political allies with drug conspiracy and weapons counts tied to the Sinaloa Cartel.
- Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, from the same MORENA party, publicly defended him and called the indictment a U.S. far-right political attack with no evidence.
- Sheinbaum canceled her Friday morning conference, citing flu-like symptoms, on the same day the governor resumed the job.
Commentary
A Border Patrol agent in Nogales still tastes dust and diesel at a checkpoint that already lost the last load. He does not get to 'resume work' after an indictment. He gets a lawyer and a locker.
That is the gap. American cops lose a badge for a dirty stop. A Mexican governor, if DOJ is right, keeps a palace after a cartel file. Sheinbaum's flu is not a medical story. It is a mute button.
Ask every family that buried a fentanyl name: if the Sinaloa desk can reopen under indictment, what did 'Mexico will cooperate' ever mean?
Comments
An indictment is not a sabbatical. Extradite the chair, do not reupholster it.
I watched Sinaloa product kill a town. A governor in that file is not a misunderstanding.
DOJ named conspiracy and guns. Sheinbaum named 'far right.' One of those is a charging document.
Allies who shield an indicted governor are not partners in a drug war. They are the alibi.
Nine allies in the same indictment is a machine, not a rogue.
I would be fired for a dirty time card. He gets the statehouse back. Same week.
The powder does not care about MORENA talking points. It cares about a protected desk.
Cartel plus governor is a logistics node. Treat the node.
Breitbart printed Rocha Moya, April indictment, and the canceled conferencia. Keep that trio.
Demand the extradition. Cut the aid that pretends this is a misunderstanding.
